I first met Rachel at a group dinner on an Enduroman Arch to Arc training camp in Lanzarote, where Edgar Ette (#1) and myself, Paul Robinson (#60) were sharing a few tales of what it’s like to complete the event. At that stage we didn’t know Rachel’s incredible history within triathlon.

Rachel and her mother Trisha had an amazing catalogue of swims under their belts, completing the North Channel (Mad!!), English Channel, Around Jersey and Jersey to France. At this moment, Edgar and myself looked at each other and agreed “what are us two idiots giving advice to this lady for…”. What pursued was a fun evening discussing many stories and a solid friendship forming over a joint love of doing mad things.

A few months later TEAM MAD (Mother And Daughter) arranged a call with me, and I am now honoured to be part of their amazing team, looking forward to helping guide them to success in their Arch to Arc attempt in 2026.
